LECTORS: Lectors are trained by the Canon Missioner to read the lessons and
psalms during services.

LAY READERS: Lay Readers are trained by the Canon Missioner and commissioned
by the Diocese to read the Epistle and lead the congregation in the prayers of the people.
during services.

LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: Are lay readers who are specially trained by the
Canon Missioner and commissioned by the Diocese not only to do the job of the Lay

unable to attend worship services.

ACOLYTES: Our young people serve in our processional and recessional by carrying
the cross, torches, banners and assisting at the altar of God to help enrich our worship
services. Adults interested in becoming an acolyte are also most welcome to join.

ALTAR GUILD: The members of the Altar Guild are a group of very dedicated ladies
who keep our Altar beautiful. The teams work diligently to keep it clean and ready for
use. They are responsible for the care of the Altar linens, vessels and other supplies

funerals, Baptisms and weddings.

OUTREACH: The outreach committee provides aid and assistance to those in need in
our local community and throughout the world.

PASTORAL CARE: Led by our Canon Missioner, this group shares time with those of
the church family who are no longer in the main stream of activities. They make personal
visits, telephone calls and write letters for those who can no longer take care of such
functions themselves.

Sunday School and Youth Activities: Sunday School and youth activities have
been an integral part of both St Stephen's and Holy Cross ever since their beginnings.
There is a diverse selection of activities that the youth can participate in each year.
Our Youth Ministry Team:   Sheryl Hopkins, Dustin Barrows, Tiffany Grisham
